It was a bit wet and windy today so generally times were a bit slower. I had a quick nose bleed in my warm up for some reason, perhaps an overdose of EPO.. who knows. I finished in 24.09 with legs burning coming 4th. Team mate James Ebdon finished in an impressive 23.01 despite a nasty crosswind/headwind heading north for half the course to put him in top spot.
Thanks to Jon Pridham for the photo.
There were some doubts whether the time trial would go ahead, with a road closure on the course but it was just about alright to go through so we just got on with it. 200m of road was like riding over ripples in a pond turned to stone in an abyss of gravel, but fortunately no one punctured. With a big hill in the middle of the course I had to remind myself my average wasn't going to be fantastic... I completed the course in 21.32 placing me in 2nd place 32 seconds away from the winner.
